Healthy Soils Australia: Founding Force Behind Soil Week and SCHOOL Week Now Making Global Impact
Healthy Soils Australia (HSA), the nation’s longest-standing soil advocacy group, is proud to celebrate the global recognition now being given to Soil Week and the SCHOOL Week initiative.
Initially developed by HSA in 2021, Soil Week was born from a simple but powerful idea: to raise awareness of the vital link between healthy soils, healthy food, and thriving communities. With the enthusiastic support of educators, farmers, scientists, and community leaders, the program quickly expanded into SCHOOL Week—bringing soil literacy directly into classrooms and empowering the next generation with the knowledge to care for our land.
Cultivating a Sustainable Future
In the realm of sustainable agriculture, Healthy Soils Australia emerges as a beacon, championing the cause of nurturing our lands for a resilient and flourishing future. The heartbeat of our ecosystems lies in the health of the soil beneath our feet, and this organization is at the forefront of this crucial mission.
Healthy Soils Australia recognizes that measuring the success of nature-based solutions involves more than just addressing climate concerns. It delves into the intricate tapestry of our ecosystems, focusing on the vitality of our soils. In a world where biodiversity loss is a looming threat, this organization takes a holistic approach. By amalgamating scientific expertise, local knowledge, and data-driven insights, it endeavours to measure and enhance the health of our soils.
